The Elyria Historical Association (EHA) is pleased to announce that The Hickories Museum (c. 1894) was chosen as the image for their Third Annual Christmas Ornament fundraiser. The limited edition, white acrylic bulb is 3 ¼ inches and is decorated with an image in green of The Hickories Museum. It joins last year’s limited edition, white acrylic ornament that featured the Lorain County Courthouse (c. 1881) and the previous year’s white acrylic ornament that featured the Lorain County Historical Society emblem.
Ornaments can be purchased for $7 each or three for $20 at The Hickories Museum or by contacting LCHS at (440) 322-3341 if you would like to purchase one for yourself or several, as they make great gifts. All proceeds of the sale of these ornaments benefit EHA, an affiliate group of The Lorain County Historical Society.
EHA Needs Area Year Books EHA needs your help! The Elyria Historical Association is attempting to establish a complete collection of school year books from Elyria High, Elyria Catholic, Elyria West, Open Door Christian and First Baptist Christian. We are accepting yearbook donations (non-returnable) at The Lorain County Historical Society, 509 Washington Avenue, Elyria. The office is in the basement of The Hickories and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. These books will be available for reference, and may be borrowed for display during class reunions. Photo displays will be created featuring each schools' teams, clubs, bands and societies. These displays, using school colors, will be featured periodically in downtown storefront windows. We are requesting help from high school graduating class members to assist EHA in selecting photographs for the creation of these displays. Anyone interested in helping with these displays, please call 440-322-3341. The Elyria Historical Association is actively seeking new members. For additional information please contact the Lorain County Historical Society at 440-322-3341. |
