The Hickories Museum

The Lorain County Historical Society is pleased to share The Hickories, an 1895 mansion combining Richardsonian Romanesque and Shingle-style architecture, with the public. The interior features Tiffany-style windows, six fireplaces, carved faces and a private chapel. French and Gothic styles are apparent in the oak, mahogany and cherry woodwork. The museum interprets the lifestyle of a wealthy Lorain County family in the early 1900s.


Visitors can enjoy guided tours of The Hickories Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (last tour begins by 3:15), and the first and third Saturdays of of the month 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (The last tour starts 45 minutes before close.) Other tour times may be available by appointment. Contact the LCHS office at (440) 322-3341.

Admission: Adults $5; Children (ages 13-18) $3; Children (ages 6-12) $2; Children under six and LCHS Members are free.
